Bernie’s slogan?!? “Not me. Us.” We can win this together! This is why Mochipet has asked fellow musicians to join in and create new fresh and interesting Roland TB-303 ACID tracks. One or Three will be released every month until 2303 (really?). We are looking forward to some interesting sounds coming our way! Already slotted are tracks from Nit Grit, Kanizzle, Graz, El Diablo, Josh Decker, YobKiss, Lamebot, Mangangs, The Flying Skulls, and MadSavvy with some things in the works from Otto Von Schirach, Richard Devine, and edIT (Glitch Mob) this is a good cause to be a part of! And best of all; all proceeds will to MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) to further the study of Psychedelics and how it can benefit humanity!

Mochipet Live at Solar Eclipse Festival Sulawesi Indonesia 2016

Recently I had the honor of playing at the first Solar Eclipse Festival in Sulawesi Indonesian. Located on an island just east of Borneo, the festival was like nothing I have ever experienced before. Thousands of people from all around the world gathered and danced on top of a Aboriginal Indonesian Reservation to watch a Full Solar Eclipse in the middle of nowhere. There were stages and tree houses completely constructed out of bamboo and recycled materials. The infrastructure was all made to be sustainable as possible and I did not meet one person I did not like the whole time I was there. There were local acts as well as artists from all around the world. Sure there was problems, they were doing a full scale festival in the middle of nowhere. But what came out was nothing short of amazing. I wish you were there to share in my experience but since you were not please enjoy my set from the show; it contains many unreleased tracks as well as some side projects which will be released officially in the upcoming months!

Good news, everyone: it’s Friday! If you’re at the tail end of a draining work week and ready to float into the wondrous weekend, then we’ve got just the tune for you. Iconoclastic Los Angeles duo, Magic Bronson, recently released a new single to follow up their critically acclaimed Wildlife LP; entitled ‘Levitate’, the track took shape on a dark and stormy night deep in the heart of the Mendocino redwoods. Maybe it was the altered state the musicians were in combined with the inclement weather, but there was a mysterious energy contained within this creation. So much so, that bass music’s underground champion, Mochipet, simply had to lend his skills to a remix. It’s a bit more high-energy than the original, relying on clattering percussion and booming bass hits to drive things forward. Sunshine-bright synths add a warm atmosphere as well, quickly putting a smile on your face and a tap in your foot.

Mochipet and his friends at A​bleton, Serato, Keith McMillen, iZotope, DJ TechTools, Drum Pads 24, and The Untz recently setup a remix contest to discover new producers in the world of experimental electronic music. What they received was nothing short of amazing. Mochipet and his panel of judges (Z-Trip, Ill.Gates, Mr. Lif and edIT of The Glitch Mob) had a hard time picking a winner. In the end, surprised newcomer Pockitz (later discovered to be Matt of Love & Light) took the medal. Everything on this release is top notch. 24 remixes from producers around the world to Mochipet’s seminal Glitch-Hop release “Psilocybin Samurai” Enjoy!

Mochipet Psilocybin Samurai Remix Contest Winner Announced!

Last month we launched The Mochipet Psilocybin Samurai Remix Contest presented by TheUntz.com with our friends from Ableton, Keith McMillen Instruments, Serato, iZotope, Drum Pads 24, and DJ TechTools and asked you to create a remix for two songs off Mochipet’s new release Cractal Frunk and Psilocybin Samurai. What we received was nothing short of amazing!

 

 

First off thank you to everyone who submitted remixes for the contest. The production value was top notch and way more than we had ever expected. The judges (Mochipet, edIT of the Glitch Mob, Z-Trip, Ill.Gates, and Mr. Lif) had a extremely hard time picking a clear winner. There was definitely more than one song that stood out as the best remix in terms of composition and production value. However since we have have to pick one we will say our Grand Prize winner is Pockitz! and Runner Up is Dreameater!. More than honorable mentions go out to Atomic Reactor, Otist Reading, Mass Relay, Wobble Maharajas, PRE + END, and Nocturnum. And just so you know that we really did love all these remixes we would like to invite all the honorable mentions to be on the remix album as well! Thank you all for the time and energy you put into this we really appreciate it, keep making amazing music. Keep an eye out for The Mochipet Psilocybin Samurai Remix album which will be out next month!

This was a dark time in my life, I stopped working on music all together, my heart was not in it. But even so I knew I had to do something, so what spare time I had I would slowly work on spark.
